Description

The B vitamins are involved in the metabolism of carbohydrates to convert them into glucose and eventually ATP, the body's store of energy. All B vitamins are closely involved in the production of energy. B5 (Pantothenic Acid) is necessary to make neurotransmitters that transfer information between brain cells. B6 is essential for making haemoglobin, the pigment in the blood which carries oxygen. It is also used to help with pre-menstrual symptoms. Folic acid is necessary in pregnancy for the development of the nervous cells of the foetus. B12 is essential to all cells in the body, including red blood cells and the lining of the intestinal tract.
